Have you ever…
And then, every once in a while you…
Have you ever not finished a sentence or a thought because you stopped to check your mobile device when it rang, buzzed, beeped or vibrated at you?
Here’s another tip for Your Time Management Revolution:
Our electronic devices that are supposed to keep us connected to everything in the world actually cause us the biggest interruptions throughout the day. That’s why it’s very important that you set boundaries with those electronic devices.
Set specific times when you’re going to check-in on your emails and your text messages, and whatever other notifications come in on your devices. Now, I’m not saying not to check. However, I am suggesting that you check at specific times. That way, you’re not allowing yourself to be constantly interrupted throughout the day.
Also, if you have any tempting apps on your screen that are right there waiting for you when you’re ready to procrastinate, move those apps to a rear screen. By not having the apps front and center and easy to reach, you make it a little less tempting to procrastinate, and it’ll take more effort to do so.
When you set a boundary with your electronic devices, you’ll be able to make better decisions about how you use your time.
